Quotations and handovers · ASRR Tech
How do you keep unanswered quotation questions visible?
Record questions as concrete actions with an owner. A general waiting status does not identify who collects information or when progress resumes.
A practical example
The customer awaits a technical explanation from another colleague.
This is an illustrative situation for assessing your own process.
Checklist for your team
- Record the question.
- Assign an answer owner.
- Plan feedback.
What does success look like?
Every open question has a clear route to an answer.
Test this with a recognisable record and have a colleague review the outcome. Note missing information or decisions. Use that finding to improve a working agreement before applying the process more broadly.
Quotations and handovers: the wider process
A quotation records the offer, its conditions and the customer’s next step. Make the version received by the customer identifiable. Changes to price or scope can affect follow-up, scheduling and delivery. Agree who can make changes, who reviews them and what approval is sufficient for the next step. Walk through an example from enquiry to handover. Include a rejected quotation and a change after sending; these often reveal unclear expectations.
