Quotations and handovers · ASRR Tech
How do you handle changes after sending a quotation?
Clarify what changes and which version replaces the previous proposal. Check effects on price, timing and commitments before communicating the change.
A practical example
An additional item changes both price and required preparation.
This is an illustrative situation for assessing your own process.
Checklist for your team
- Compare scope.
- Check consequences.
- Send an identifiable revision.
What does success look like?
Customer and delivery refer to the same current offer.
Test this with a recognisable record and have a colleague review the outcome. Note missing information or decisions. Use that finding to improve a working agreement before applying the process more broadly.
Quotations and handovers: the wider process
A quotation records the offer, its conditions and the customer’s next step. Make the version received by the customer identifiable. Changes to price or scope can affect follow-up, scheduling and delivery. Agree who can make changes, who reviews them and what approval is sufficient for the next step. Walk through an example from enquiry to handover. Include a rejected quotation and a change after sending; these often reveal unclear expectations.
