Quotations and handovers · ASRR Tech

How do you handle an expired quotation?

Check whether price, scope and availability need reassessment. Explain whether a new proposal is needed before progressing.

A practical example

A customer returns later after the original schedule has changed.

This is an illustrative situation for assessing your own process.

Checklist for your team

  1. Check conditions.
  2. Reassess scope.
  3. Record current commitments.

What does success look like?

Further progress rests on current information and an identifiable proposal.

Test this with a recognisable record and have a colleague review the outcome. Note missing information or decisions. Use that finding to improve a working agreement before applying the process more broadly.

Quotations and handovers: the wider process

A quotation records the offer, its conditions and the customer’s next step. Make the version received by the customer identifiable. Changes to price or scope can affect follow-up, scheduling and delivery. Agree who can make changes, who reviews them and what approval is sufficient for the next step. Walk through an example from enquiry to handover. Include a rejected quotation and a change after sending; these often reveal unclear expectations.
